“Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”
Tax is never boring – two very similar fact patterns can throw up very different tax outcomes, and to me that makes tax incredibly fascinating. Although I’m not a tax accountant – I don’t complete tax returns or calculations. What I’m passionate about and what I’ve been focussing on for more than 20 years is tax law.
In addition to advisory and structuring work, I have assisted many clients with ATO audits and general revenue office queries. I have also worked with clients in developing internal tax risk management procedures and tax training. This has involved working with both in-house tax, finance and internal audit groups on tax compliance and risk management.
Working closely with Blueleaf’s trusted advice partners allows me to provide highly specialised tax advice to accountants – which helps them to help their clients.
While our advice partners focus on the day-to-day needs of their clients, I help them keep abreast of evolving tax laws and practice, while also providing advice on complex scenarios such as tax revenue office investigations, and business restructures which require further investment or divestment.
I am a passionate foodie and I will travel far and wide for good food. I love trying new flavours and venues and am willing to try anything provided I haven’t cooked it myself. Combining my love of food with my family and friends is my ideal way to spend spare time.
